ASIIN Accreditation Process at IUS Advances with New Site Visit for Architecture, IT, and EEE Programs

As part of the ongoing ASIIN accreditation process at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), a two-day site visit was held on Tuesday and Wednesday this week for the Architecture cluster (Cluster D), as well as the IT-related study programs (Computer Science and Engineering; Software Engineering; and Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering) and the Electrical and Electronics Engineering program, all within Cluster A. The visit marks another important stage in the accreditation of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at IUS. ASIIN is an internationally recognized German accreditation agency specializing in quality assurance for engineering, IT, and natural sciences study programs.

The site visit began with an opening meeting attended by the ASIIN accreditation team, program coordinators, and representatives of the IUS Rectorate. The meeting brought together the IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Kuşakcı, who delivered a presentation on the University, Vice-Rectors, the Dean, program coordinators, and the Manager of the Strategic Development Office.

During the visit, the ASIIN team toured the laboratories and studios relevant to the evaluated programs, as well as the University library and learning facilities. They were introduced to the equipment and resources used in student projects, tutorials, and practical teaching, gaining direct insight into the academic environment and infrastructure that support the educational process at IUS.

On the second day, the accreditation team met with students, teaching staff, and industry partners. These sessions provided an opportunity for open discussion on the quality of the study programs, teaching and learning practices, cooperation with industry, and the overall student experience.

This two-day visit represents the continuation of the ASIIN accreditation process of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences and reflects IUS’s strong commitment to quality assurance, continuous improvement, and alignment with internationally recognized academic standards.

The accreditation process will continue next week with the ASIIN site visit for the Mechanical Engineering study program.
